Rimbey Elementary is holding our annual Terry Fox Run on September 26. This year marks the 45th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. Terry’s goal was to raise $1 for each Canadian. If you would like to donate to help fight against Cancer, you can donate online or contribute to our Toonies for Terry.

Toonies for Terry: Families may send money donations. Each classroom has a Toonies for Terry container that will be donated to the Terry Fox organization. 

Parents are welcome to join us on the Terry Fox Run.

• Vulnerable Sector Checks need to be completed and on file in order to participate, they are good for 3 years. Parents may also call the office to confirm if they are unsure. 

Volunteers who have not completed a Vulnerable Sector Check in the last 3 years need to complete the following two forms below:

1. Vulnerable Sector Check Application – valid for 3 years
• Complete & take to the local RCMP.
• Signed copies are available in our office.
• Please stop by the school to pick one up or let us know if you’d like one sent home with your child.

1. Volunteer Application Form – complete yearly
• Complete and submit it to the office for Principal approval.

Volunteers who have a completed a Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 3 years need to complete the 2 forms below:

In 2015, the Orange Shirt Society was formed to create awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of Indian Residential Schools with the purpose of supporting Indian Residential School Reconciliation and promoting the truth that EVERY CHILD MATTERS.

The annual Orange Shirt Day on September 30th opens the door to global conversation on all aspects of Residential Schools. It is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the effects of Residential Schools and the legacy they have left behind.  A discussion all Canadians can tune into and create bridges with each other for reconciliation.  A day for survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter, and so do those that have been affected.  Every Child Matters, even if they are an adult, from now on.
