Student Demographics Updates - InfoSnap

 

Our 2018/2019 school term is underway and with it the need to update all student demographic currently on file at RES for each child in your family. WCPS has now moved to online registrations and demographic student updates each school year, including for the 2018-2019 school year! Parents that have a kindergarten student or a child that is new to RES this year have already used Info Snap to register your child. Please note that the Info Snap account is not the same as your Parent Portal account.

This online process replaces all paper forms (gray sheets) previously sent home at the beginning of each school year to update your child's/family demographic information. It is an Alberta Education requirement that this is done each year by a child's parent/legal guardian.  

Each RES parent/guardian listed on your child's file - grades 1 - 6 - received an email from Rimbey Elementary/Wolf Creek Public Schools asking you to validate your child's information & family demographics. Reminder e-mails were sent out on October 17th & 29th, November 5th, 14th, 30, December 14th and January 9th.. Please follow the instructions and the link embedded in the email as this contains a unique 15 digit "snapcode" for your child. Complete and submit back to the school in a timely fashion. Kindergarten and new students to RES for the 2018/2019 have already submitted information online. Please note that e-mail reminders will continue to be sent until your information has been returned/submitted and verified.

Please note that if you have already provided legal documentation to the school please indicate this on your submission.  Legal documentation is not required to be submitted again.

How do I get started?
Click the "snapcode" link: this will be embedded in the email that you receive for each child.

What’s a snapcode?
By clicking on the link, you are automatically entering your child's snapcode. The snapcode is like a key to your child’s information each school year. You should receive a unique snapcode or snapcode link for each child in your family. Please note that the snapcode accounts are different than your "Parent Portal" account.

Should I create an account? 
- If you’ve never completed an online Info Snap registration for your family you should create an account. This allows you to securely save your work and come back at a later time if necessary. You can use your email address or cell phone number.
- If you already have an account, (not Parent Portal account) you can sign in and complete the form. (You should use the same Info Snap account to complete forms for multiple children.) You will still need to either manually enter the SnapCode for each child or click the individual link in each received email to get the code.

Do I have to answer all the questions? 
Questions marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.

What if I make a mistake? 
If you would like to make a change, click on the underlined field or click “< Prev” to return to a previous page.

I’ve completed the form, now what? 
When you have finished entering your information, click “Submit.” This will send all of the information you’ve entered back to RES. If you cannot click on this button, you will need to make sure that you have answered all required questions.

What if I have more than one student in the district? 
Do I need to do this for each child? Yes, because you’ll need to provide information that is specific for each child. We recommend that you submit one and then start another – this will allow you to “snap over” shared family information, which will save you time. 

I don’t know what a question is asking.

What if I don't complete the information or create an account?

As this is an Alberta Education requirement that must be done each year you will receive email reminders with the information until the account has been set up and submitted back to the school.

We appreciate your entering all the changes to your child's information in a timely fashion.  If all information is correct please electronically sign the form and submit.

We appreciate if any student/family information changes throughout the year after you submit the initial changes that you contact the school office directly.
