Back to School - Bright Futures Programming

ENROLLMENT FEE 

A one-time enrollment fee of $130 is required upon acceptance into the program. This fee is required to  retain your child’s spot and covers the cost of registration, consumable school supplies and special  activities organized by your child's teacher. 

Important Note: Although this letter confirms that we have received your registration, the enrollment  fee is required to hold your child’s spot. Please make payment via the Parent Portal (“student fee” tab,  bottom left) ASAP.  

PROGRAM FEE  

The Bright Futures Play Academy program fee of $1350 is due by September 1st and must be paid online  through the Parent Portal.  

  • During the checkout process, there are options for “partial payment” or “payment plan”. 
  • A minimum of 50% is due by September 1st with the remainder due by February 1st. Families, of  course, have the option to pay their fees in full if they choose.  

o Failure to pay this fee will result in your child’s name being moved to a waitlist and the  child will not be permitted to start/complete the program. 

PARENT PORTAL 

Please login with the username and password that was sent to you by email from School Engage  following the registration completion (new registrations) or with the username and password previously  set up by you (returning students).  

  • If you cannot remember your username or password, please contact the school office to have it  reset at 403-843-3751 or res@wolfcreek.ab.ca. 
  • Please see the attached “Online Payment User Guide” for instructions on how to set up an  account in order to pay fees. 

CALENDAR 

Our Bright Futures Play Academy program runs September-June, and a copy of the school year calendar  is available on our website at: https://res.wolfcreek.ab.ca/calendar

START OF THE YEAR INFORMATION 

At the end of August, your child’s teacher will contact you to share information about a September orientation at the school which provides a short introduction to the program prior to the first day of  school. We are very excited to have your child in the Bright Futures Play Academy program and look  forward to a great year ahead! 

SCHOOL SUPPLIES 

Most materials that children will use at school are provided by the school. However, there are a few  things we ask that your child bring: 

  • Backpack for transporting items such as snacks, crafts and winter clothing. 
  • Indoor shoes that will be kept at school. Shoes should have non-marking soles and velcro  fastenings. Please ensure your child’s name is on both shoes. 
  • Extra change of clothes (shirt, pants, underwear, socks) in a large ziploc bag to be kept at school.  Please label the bag with your child’s name. 
  • Water Bottle 
  • Please ensure your child’s name is clearly marked on all belongings as oftentimes several  children will have the same or similar article of clothing, water bottle, backpack, etc. 

PUF PROGRAM SUPPORTS 

Children who are eligible to be supported by the PUF grant for additional in class services and  modifications will have been in touch with our Inclusive Learning Coordinator, prior to the start of the program to discuss and accommodate for your child’s unique level of need.  

  • To qualify for this service, several assessments and documentation of additional needs are required.  
  • If you feel that your child has additional needs that have not been discussed or addressed by  early September, please contact Stacy Sargeant at stacy.sargeant@wolfcreek.ab.ca, or 403-843-3751.
  • Once approved for PUF funding, program hours and fees will be adjusted for eligible children. 
  • If your child is not approved for the PUF grant, regular fees will be assigned to your parent portal  account.
