Drop Off/Pick Up Expectations Throughout the Year

  • Students are not to arrive at school before 8:15, as there is no supervision until 8:15
  • To limit congestion in our hallways; parents drop off and pick up outside at students’ designated entrances.

When do I find out about my child's classroom teacher?

  • Please log into your Parent Portal account on Aug 30 (after 4:00 PM) to find out your child’s homeroom classroom placement.

 Demographic Update Form

  • Between Aug 22 - Sept 3, all WCPS parents are asked to go to the online Parent Portal account and complete a Demographic Update. This is an Alberta Education requirement.
  • This must be completed prior to the first day of classes.
  • The form is mostly pre-populated with current data from PowerSchool.  Please check that the information is correct. If your address, phone number(s) or emergency contact(s) have changed, please update them.
  • As well, there are several essential consents that must be completed annually.  Such as: Technology User Agreement, Walking Field Trip Permission, FOIP, Code of Conduct, etc.

Please Note:  students will not be allowed to access any technology, will have limited access to physical education activities and will not be permitted to leave school grounds for activities until the Student Demographic Update Form is completed.

When are school fees due?

Student fees are due at the beginning of September each year.

  • All fees must be paid online through the Parent Portal ("student fee" tab on the bottom left of the screen).
    • Cash/cheque payments will not be accepted.
    • Payment through mobile devices does not consistently work, so it is best to use a computer. The office has one available for use if needed.

Please Note: all supplemental fees are required to be paid prior to optional items such as hot lunch and extra-curricular activities being available for purchase.

School Supplies

Parents/Guardians have two options for buying school supplies. You can purchase supplies from whichever retail store/supplier you prefer using the Supply Lists Detailed.

Or, you can purchase supply kits from School Start that will be delivered directly to you.

  • $3/kit ordered before July 31 will come back to our school.
  • Purchasing items from School Start is completely optional, therefore families may buy school supplies anywhere you like.

Parents can purchase labels for their students' supplies, at their discretion, through an ongoing fundraiser organized with Mabels Labels. Funds that are generated from this organization will be credited to Rimbey Parent Council Foundation, who helps to supplement items for our school.

New Students

  • Registration is only accepted online.  Please see instructions here.
  • During the online process, a Parent Portal account will be created automatically. Access will be granted once your child's application has been approved and processed.
    • Your Parent Portal account is also used for paying student costs for many things including all required student fees, field trips, hot lunches, etc.
    • To "reset" your password please contact the school at res@wolfcreek.ab.ca or 403-843-3751.

Inclement Weather

Parents/Guardians please note that Wolf Creek has updated its inclement weather policy, AP 132, regarding school closures. In the event that schools are closed due to severe weather for three or more days, two Professional Development Days have been allotted as an Inclement Weather Instructional Day.

  • If schools are closed for three days from September 3rd - December 12th, the December 13th Professional Development Day will become a school day.
  • If schools are closed for three days from December 15th - June 5th, the June 6th Professional Development Day will become a school day.
